November 18, 2011: The forecast said that sunrise would be at 610am, but as we travel to this south part of Kuwait at 545am, the sun was already showing its golden colors. As soon as we reached the Fintas seaside, I prepared immediately my camera, tripod, and filter and started setting-up to shoot the sunrise. Here are some of the photos taken during this adventure.

(focal length: 10mm, f/22, 2 sec., with a 0.9 GND filter)

(focal length: 10mm, f/22, 6 sec., with a 0.9 GND filter)
As you may have noticed on the above 2 photos, I’ve used a very small aperture to get at least a long exposure.
With the sun already above the horizon, I find it hard to use my filter, so I decided to remove my camera from the tripod and started shooting some handheld shots.

(focal length: 13mm, f/8, 1/60 sec.)

(focal length: 10mm, f/8, 1/40 sec.)

(panorama: 6 vertical parts, stitched in photoshop)
With the situation that happened during this shoot, I really need now an ND filter to help me lower the bright light produced by the golden orb. I’m putting that filter in my bucket list and hope to buy it someday, Inshallah…

love the shots

I love it!

the heARTS of myk malag photography
my friend, you are with me during this adventure…
thanks…
Great Photos sir myk, neutral density filter technique, im learning from your shots.
sir vince, yes i’m using some filters now but not yet complete. I will still be using the black card technique for I enjoy that one, it’s just that it is not applicable on this adventure since it was already bright when we reached the location…thanks for droppin’ by….
